Mossy Creek Fly Fishing Forecast 10/25/2021
Did that big Shenandoah River largemouth bass get your attention? Jess enjoyed catching her personal best on Monday evening. Fall fishing is in full swing right now and Andy brings us the details for the week ahead. We have windy overcast and rainy weather on Tuesday and Thursday night into Saturday evening. Expect sunny and calm weather on Wednesday. What does this mean for fishing? Conditions could be tough on Tuesday with winds gusting over 25mph. Leaf litter choking up the creeks could also cause a problem on the windy and rainy days. Keep that in mind especially if you plan on musky fishing as the worst of the 'leaf hatch' generally occurs late October into the 2nd week of November. Trout fishing on the spring creeks, delayed harvest, and special reg streams should be excellent later this week on the rainy overcast days. Water levels have been at average to below average flows and almost all of our creeks have been running gin clear. Some dark skies and rainy conditions should give anglers an edge while streamer and nymph fishing. We are enjoying the last bit of terrestrial fishing right now. Crickets and grasshoppers are still out in good numbers. We are loaded up on everything you need for fall and winter fishing! Stop in and see us or shop online for the best selection of gear in the region!
