Mossy Creek Fly Fishing Forecast 6/16/2025

Nick brings us the forecast this week. The Valley is still soggy from a rainy weekend. Water levels are up all over and even Dry River, North River, and Skidmore Fork are too dirty for good fishing today. More rain is on the way tonight and through Tuesday into Wednesday. Most of the rain in the next few days will be light with just around a quarter inch forecast but we are expecting thunderstorms Tuesday that could change water conditions. Keep an eye on the gauges and on our social media channels for updates throughout the week. Once water levels drop get ready for some nymph and streamer fishing on the mountain streams. When things clean up we will be enjoying some great dry fly fishing as well. These conditions are allowing us to use big flies, size 12-14 attractor nymphs like bloody mary, copper johns, psycho prince, and bushy, high floating dries like stimulators, caddis, pmx, beetles, ect that also work great as indicator flies if you choose to use a dropper rig. Tricos are thick on the spring creeks and we have been enjoying fishing early morning risers! Sunup to around 8:30 will bring the best dry fly fishing in the hot weather ahead or the last hour of daylight once the sun dips below the mountain tops. Bass fishing has been tremendously good and we look forward to floating and catching fish hopefully later this week. Check out the video for more details on where to go this week!
