Mossy Creek Fly Fishing Forecast 8/5/2024

Andy brings us the forecast this week. Right now we have a slight bump in our local rivers and streams from isolated thunderstorms over the weekend but it will be hot and dry early this week. Bass fishing should be excellent and early morning trout fishing has been steady. The big news is the tropical system heading north. It is looking like we will start to see rain bands late Tuesday with the bulk of the rain from the system coming Friday into Saturday morning. Despite missing a bulk of rain over the past few weeks right now we are looking at the potential for inches of rain this week to really help flush our drainages and make up a bit of ground from the recent drought. Rainfall might hit 6 inches or more which may flood us out for a 4-5 days but will help reset our situation and allow for good bass fishing and trout fishing for at least a few weeks. We will keep you posted on updates throughout the week. Once rain bands start to hit streamer fishing will be in play for bass and trout so make sure your streamer boxes and heavier tippet is stocked up! Hopefully we will have much improved conditions next week!
