Mossy Creek Fly Fishing Forecast 7/30/2024

Andy brings us the forecast this week. Well, we fired the weatherman a few weeks ago as we got tired of getting our hopes up for rain. Weeks of 80-90% chances of rain and thunderstorms and even a few flash flood watches and unfortunately we are still dry without much relief in sight. Temps this week will be in the 90's in the middle of the week and then back into the upper 80's by the weekend. There is a threat of rain just about every day but we will believe that when we see it! Water levels are still very low on all of our regional trout waters. Spring creeks and tailwaters are about the only option to catch fish. Early mornings on the spring creeks are best during the trico hatch. Overcast days have also been very productive with big terrestrial patterns. Until we get a massive change in the weather our focus will still be on the warm water fisheries. Bass, carp, and gar are easy to target during periods of low and clear water conditions. Topwater fishing has been great most days. Soft Chews, Swim Frogs, Deer Hair Bugs, Todd's Wiggle Minnows, Umpqua Bass Poppers, Clawdads, Ck Baitfish, Geezers, Spark Plugs, Flash Drives, are all popular patterns right now. Andy breaks down all the other details in the video so give it a watch and please give us a follow!
