Mossy Creek Fly Fishing Forecast 4/11/2022
Andy brings us the forecast this week. Spring is HERE (may even feel like summer a few days) with temps in the 70's and upper 70's. With recent rainfall bumping up our flows the mountain brook trout fishing, spring creek fishing, and bass fishing will be great. The bass rivers are still swollen but starting to really clean up nicely. Caddis are popping off Mossy. We should start to see sulphurs in the evening hours pretty soon. In the meantime we have been seeing some larger browns caught on streamers. The recent overcast rainy days made for some excellent fishing with big flies. Little yellow stones have been coming off the brook trout streams. March browns shouldn't be too far off on our side of the mountain. Some have been spotted on the east slope park streams. As water levels drop and temperatures rise the trout fishing will only get better. Nymphing will be key as water levels are still high but the dry fly fishing should be excellent later this week. We anticipate this will be the BEST week of spring trout fishing so far for 2022!
