Mossy Creek Fly Fishing Forecast 2/6/2023

Nick brings us the forecast this week and the news is looking AWESOME. The weather is looking unseasonably warm with temps in the 50's and even 60's later in the week. We start off a bit gusty early in the week with the wind calming down mid week. Overcast weather hits us on Wednesday and Thursday that should provide some excellent fishing conditions. The brook trout fishing was good over the weekend. Most of our creeks have quality water flow right now. Some fish caught on dry flies were eating size 16 caddis, blue wings, and attractor dries. You should see this activity increase as the waters warm up a bit later in the week. Spring creeks are fishing well and we should see some increased bug activity this week. We are hoping that the calm overcast days bring out the BWO's and possibly some early season caddis. The Shenandoah River temps should be in the mid to upper 40's. It may see 50 by the end of the week with some nights only hitting 40 for a low. The bass and musky should be fired up this week with stable weather on the backside of the full moon. Keep an eye on the shop receiving some of our massive spring preseason orders over the next 2 weeks. We have an amazing selection of new gear for you this year. If you are local and want to come see some presentations and new gear stop by the Rapidan Fly Fishing Show this Saturday in Warrenton from 9-3. Check out the details here- http://www.rapidantu.org . Enjoy the great weather this week and we hope to see you at the show!
