Mossy Creek Fly Fishing Forecast 2/20/23
Nick brings us the forecast this week. The good news is we have tons of water right now all over. The mountain streams and spring creeks are full of water. The larger rivers like the Shenandoah are still running high. The brook trout fishing has been great and should only get better as things warm up. Watch for wind this week as we will have some gusty days. Musky and bass fishing on the Shenandoah will be tough until things clear up again. It is looking like temps will be in the upper 50's early next week. If water temps hover around 50 with clear water the warmwater fishing will crank back up. In the meantime you can enjoy some excellent brook trout fishing. The spring creeks have some caddis popping off along with some midges and blue wing olives. The nymph and streamer fishing will be most productive until those hatches get thicker. DWR is still out stocking our favorite big freestones. North River DH, South River, Bullpasture, Jackson, Back Creek will be in great shape as water levels drop. Check those USGS updates to make sure you are fishing in quality water flows this spring!
