Mossy Creek Fly Fishing Forecast 3/24/2025

Nick brings us the forecast this week. First thing before we get into the fishing - our spring open house is in a few weeks on Saturday, April 5th. Come join the fun, eat some great food, and chat with some fishing guides, local anglers, and our sales reps! Fishing this week is just getting better and better! Water levels are excellent in the mountains. Caddis, Quill Gordons, and a bunch of other mayflies have been hatching. Fish are looking up and dry fly fishing continues to improve. Try a dry dropper rig as you will likely still catch more and possibly bigger fish on the nymph right now. Caddis, bwo's, and midges are hatching on the spring creeks. DWR is out stocking streams so keep an eye on their website for daily updates. Bass fishing is cranking up. Musky will likely get a bit tricky this month as they begin their spawning ritual. You won't find huge number days bass fishing right now like you can in the spring and summer months but we do catch big ones! So many good options to fish this week. Load up on big attractor dries for the mountains, jig streamers, sculpin patterns, attractors for the stocked waters and spring creeks, and big crayfish and baitfish patterns for the smallmouth! Get out and enjoy the season!
