Mossy Creek Fly Fishing Forecast 3/10/2025

Brian brings us the forecast this week. We have some incredible weather today through Friday! It looks like the windy weather is moving out for a short while. Water levels are just about picture perfect. We will be looking for Quill Gordons, caddis, little black stoneflies, and some other bugs hatching up in the mountains this week. We could see some caddis popping off the spring creeks as well. Streamer and nymph fishing will dominate on all of the trout water this week but we are excited for some improving dry fly conditions. Lots of streams are being stocked in VA and WV. Keep an eye on the DWR and DNR sites for updates. Load heavy on attractor nymphs and streamers for the stocked fish. The mountain brook trout streams are in excellent shape and reports have been good from our local streams from the calmer warmer days last week. Attractor nymphs and small streamers are working well. Dry droppers were picking up some fish on the dry fly and as water temps rise we will see increased numbers of fish caught on top! Spring creeks have been fishing great. Mossy Creek public section fished well this weekend. Beaver Creek and Susie Q Farm have been stocked and good reports continue to come in. Musky and bass anglers are happy to finally have some good clarity, water levels, and temps right now minus the wind ripping up or down river! We feel all the fishing is going to bust wide open this week. The shop traffic has begun to peak and the phone is ringing off the hook to book trips and get fishing reports! Get out and enjoy the weather this week and say goodbye to winter and catch some big ones!!!
