Mossy Creek Fly Fishing Forecast 8/30/2021
Rain is the big discussion this week and it looks like we are finally going to actually get it! As we are writing this we have received over an inch in a massive thunderstorm. The forecast is showing rain and intense thunderstorms Monday-Tuesady with the big swath of rain coming Wednesday into Thursday as the remnants of Ida visit the mid-atlantic. Streamer fishing on Mossy will provide some big fish action this week. We had an angler catch one over 20" this morning on a Zirdle Bug while learning to cast. We anticipate most of our larger streams will be too high to fish later this week and through the weekend. If we receive 4-6 inches of rain Wednesday, we could be blown out from smallmouth fishing for up to 10 days. The forecast is also showing a rather remarkable cool down next week with highs in the 70s or low 80s and lows in the 50's. We will post another fishing forecast later this week after the big rain to update everyone for the weekend. Enjoy the video!
