Mossy Creek Fly Fishing Forecast 6/27/2022
Brian brings us the forecast this week. Rainfall Sunday afternoon and evening produced some localized flooding. Mossy Creek was up and off color Sunday evening. The South Fork is up a bit but very off color today. We are hoping for better clarity by mid week. The good news is we have excellent water flow on some of our favorite brook trout streams. Dry River and many of the Shenandoah National Park streams are in great shape. North River and smaller streams like Ramsey's Draft may start to look a tad pitiful with the sunny hot weather ahead of us. There could be a threat of rain over the upcoming weekend but we will update you on that possibility later in the week. Fish your streamers on the spring creeks while the creeks are dirty or when it is raining. On those clear and bright days check out the trico hatch early in the morning and then enjoy some terrestrial fishing in the afternoon hours. The bass fishing has been excellent. Crayfish, hellgrammites, and baitfish patterns in the morning and topwater bugs and frogs in the afternoon hours has been the plan most days. Check out the video for all the details!
