Mossy Creek Fly Fishing Forecast 1/23/2023
We have had some quality weather and water flow this winter season so far. This week we will see some cooler weather with lows in the 20's and highs in the 40's. This coming weekend is looking good with sunny weather near 50 degrees. Reports from the mountains have been good. Water temps are cold but brookies are being caught on nymphs and small streamers. Spring creek action has been solid with some big fish being taken on sculpin and crayfish patterns fished near the bottom. Blue wing olives and midges are out regularly but can be thickest in the afternoon hours from 2-5pm. Keep a dry fly rod nearby for some potential winter dry fly action. We have taken advantage of the clear water and have caught some big smallmouth and largemouth on the South Fork lately. The musky fishing has been good with a good number of fish being landed last week. Andy is out and catching fish as we are building out this fishing forecast!
