Mossy Creek Fly Fishing Forecast 8/16/2021
The forecast for the week shows we might be experiencing a pretty significant weather reset. Hopefully we get the upper end of the rainfall totals expected to help out the mountain trout streams. The bass fishing may slow down as the pressure changes in these approaching systems. Reports have been pretty solid today from the Shenandoah and the trout fishing on the spring creeks over the weekend was great. Tricos in the morning have been keeping anglers busy looking for snouts sipping bugs. The fields at Mossy are full of hoppers or all sizes and colors. This may be one of the better grasshopper seasons we have had in quite some time and the fish are dialed in to them. Mix that with the Hexagenia emerging and you better believe we will continue to see some big fish in the next few weeks on dry flies. Brian has been out on the water 5 days a week since May but had a cancellation today so he is bringing us the updates in this weeks fly fishing forecast!
