Mossy Creek Fly Fishing Forecast 3/28/2022

Nick brings us this weeks forecast sheltered in the shop as it blows a gale outside. I guess they say March comes in like a lion and out like a lamb....well, the lion showed up the 1st of March and it hasn't left. The wind has been atrocious lately but anglers that are fighting through it are catching plenty of fish. High winds can make for some challenging dry fly fishing. We are also still running a tad dry for March with most of our streams running at or below average flows for this time of year. We are looking to warm up later in the week and get some more rain Thursday into Friday. Hopefully we will get a good full day of rain to boost flows for the next few weeks. As the valley begins to 'green' that means trees will be starting to really suck up the moisture. We will need a lot more rain to sustain our average stream flows by mid April. For now our water levels will be sufficient to get us through the next few weeks. The shop is filled in on some flies that have been on backorder for a while. CDC just landed at the shop. Oiler puffs and  bulk select CDC are back up online. We are getting the select CDC and UV2 up over the next few days. Hungarian partridge feathers in black, olive, brown, and natural are once again available for those tying up their favorite patterns for spring. Check out the full report below.
