Mossy Creek Fly Fishing Forecast 3/14/2022
Brian brings us the forecast for the week. We have nothing but good news really as we say goodbye to some foul weather and wind and anticipate mostly sunny and mild weather all the way through until next Monday. Rivers and streams are flowing at average or below average flows right now despite having some rain and snow melt recently. We could use more rain for the spring season but flows will be excellent for the next 10 days so make sure you get out and enjoy things while they are prime. We are seeing Quill Gordons hatching up in the mountains along with some caddis here and there. The dry fly fishing was spotty last week with the seriously cold and windy days but will improve greatly this week. The spring creeks are full of water and fishing well. We have seen good numbers of fish caught from a large group of anglers from Northern VA today. The bass fishing was definitely chilly last week but we found some large fish that were willing to eat. The bass fishing should perk up this week. We found a few big musky paired up at the end of some long pools that looked like they may be getting into spawing mode. Water temps were hovering around 50 degrees where we saw these fish hanging out. Get out and enjoy the weather this week. It is shaping up to be one of the nicer ones of 2022!
