Mossy Creek Fly Fishing Forecast 9/13/2021
Greetings from the sunny Shenandoah Valley! We are anticipating warm weather with plenty of sunshine this week. 30-40% chance of showers are in the mix later this week. The mountain brook trout fishing is decent right now but without rain it will likely become marginal in a few more days in most drainages. The bass fishing continues to be excellent. The 10 day forecast is showing warm to hot days with mild to cool nights. We anticipate the bass fishing to continue to be strong until we get our first major cold fronts of fall. Water temps are still a bit warm for musky fishing but the longer nights and cooler weather should allow us to chase them soon enough. Spring creek anglers should continue to enjoy fishable hatches of tricos through October. Ants, grasshoppers, beetles, and crickets will be on the menu until the first few frosts occur. The most recent bump in water flows created some excellent streamer fishing. Big fish have been pulled from Mossy Creek lately on larger fly patterns like Home Invaders, D&D's, Swim Coaches, Gongas, and the large Galloup patterns. If you need to gear up for the fall season, we are loaded with everything right now from flies, to leaders, tippet, accessories, rods, reels, lines, waders, boots, packs and bags! Stop in and see us or shop online.
