Mossy Creek Fly Fishing Forecast 9/23/2021
Brian is bringing us an update on the recent weather and water conditions. This latest front gave us a serious shot of rain and just what we need to kick off our fall fishing season. Although it is going to put a damper on the smallmouth fishing for a while, it has recharged the mountain streams, spring creeks, and larger freestone trout rivers. VA DWR will be out stocking your favorite rivers and lakes in about a week from now. Gear up on attractor nymphs and streamers, split shot and indicators while we have this high water. The brook trout fishing will perk up for a short period of time before the spawn. We hope to be back on the smallmouth next week once the Shenandoah cleans up a bit. The musky fishing will be back in play now that water temps are in the upper 60's. We will update again on Monday after water levels have flattened out a bit. Enjoy the sunny fall weather!!!
