Merry Christmas! Brian brings us the fishing forecast for the week ahead. For those with new rods and lines to try out there is more rain on the way. Tuesday evening through Wednesday is looking wet with over an inch of rain on the way again. Localized rainfall could be heavy in spots and we will be providing updates later in the week as to the totals that have fallen and the status of the local creeks and rivers. Right now most of the mountain streams are flowing nicely. The spring creeks are running a tad above average flow with a bit of color. The warm water rivers are just about perfect right now for musky fishing or looking for a big winter bass. Trout anglers should prepare to streamer fish the next few days in the rain and possibly after a few days if water levels rise. Take those split shot, indicators, and big nymphs as well. The Shenandoah Valley is still officially in drought but we are fortunate to be chipping away at it about once a week. Hopefully there will be another system heading our way just after the New Year! Speaking of the New Year we wanted to take a moment to thank everyone for fishing with us and supporting the shop in 2023! Our entire team is excited for 2024. Our first big event will be the VA Fly Fishing Festival the 13th and 14th of January! The shop will have a very large booth with a ton of new gear for the year along with some amazing show specials!
