Mossy Creek Fly Fishing Forecast 12/18/2023
Brian brings us the forecast this week. Good news is creeks and rivers are on the rise once again after the weekend rainfall. 1-2 inches fell locally around the central Valley with 2-3 plus east of the Blue Ridge. Local brook trout streams are flowing nicely at the moment and the spring creeks are running near bank full. Our larger rivers are swollen with some suspended debris but most will crest later Monday and start falling throughout the week. More rain is now in the forecast for Tuesday through Thursday of next week! This is great news to continue to slowly pull us out of the drought. Mossy Creek, Beaver Creek, South River, Bullpasture, Cowpasture, Jackson, Back Creek DH, Buffalo Creek, Jackson Tailwater, and a bunch of streams over in West VA will be in good shape now through the Christmas holiday for trout anglers. Once the bigger rivers crest and start to drop the winter bass and musky anglers should find some good fishing as well. The shop is loaded for the winter season and we have all the flies and gear you need to be successful. Check out the website for fly recommendations and updates!
