Mossy Creek Fly Fishing Forecast 12/11/2023
Brian brings us the forecast this week. We are excited for the rain and snow that fell Sunday and Sunday night. About 1-2 inches fell in the local area. Totals were higher to our south and east but we will be enjoying this nice bump in flows while they last. There is another chance for some rain next Sunday into Monday again. It is chilly today and tonight and highs will be in the 40's and 50's this week, and a bit warmer into the weekend. Beaver Creek, Shenandoah National Park are back open to fishing. DWR can now stock quite a few more creeks and streams with better water flows so keep an eye on their site for daily updates on stocking information. West VA rivers are in good shape and have been fishing well. There are more options to trout fish now than we have had in the past 6 months. Decembers forecast is looking like we mostly have days in the 50's so relatively comfortable fishing weather ahead! Good bumps in the warm water rivers will make for some better opportunities to fish big winter bass and musky. These fish will not be nearly as spooky with just a couple of feet of visibility. So hopefully you have done your scouting and found all the big pods of fish when the water was low and clear as it is looking like we will have some decent water flow for a couple weeks! The shop is loaded up on flies and tying materials to keep you busy for the winter fishing season. We also have an excellent selection of waders, boots, layering pieces, and outerwear to keep you comfortable in any weather. Stop by and see us and keep an eye on our social channels for updates throughout the week!
