Mossy Creek Fly Fishing Forecast 5/19/2026

Brian brings us the forecast this week. It has been hot since Sunday with temps in the 90's. We are trying not to get too excited looking at the forecast as we have blanked on rainfall opportunities over the past few weeks. However, it is looking like we have a bit of a weather pattern shift ahead with temps dropping into the 60's and rain every day from Thursday on into and through next week! So while you may have a rainy or stormy Memorial Day ahead enjoy the cooler weather, the overcast conditions, and the potential for some refreshed water flows in the rivers! Brook trout fishing will perk right up if we get some significant rainfall. Green Drakes have started to show and should get thick by the weekend or next week. Little yellow stones are all over the place and fish are jumping for those bright bugs! The spring creeks are seeing technical conditions with tricos in the early mornings, sulphurs and drakes in the evenings and some hopper/dropper style fishing in the afternoons. With rain in the forecast get those streamer boxes ready to hunt some big fish. Bass fishing has been different this month with topwater action dominating most days. This could all change with rain coming. So load those boxes with baitfish and crayfish patterns! Musky fishing has been fun lately with some big fish being caught. A good bump with some color to the rivers will make fishing less challenging. Check out the full video for all the details.
