Mossy Creek Fly Fishing Forecast 9/15/2025

Nick brings us the forecast this week. It is currently Monday and overcast for the first time in almost a month! Weather creeps in Tuesday with some more overcast along with some wind and possible rain. Watch for 10-20mph winds on Tuesday into Tuesday evening. Wednesday things start to clear up a bit with sunny and warm weather returning by the end of the week and into next week. What this means is you may want to trout fish Tue/Wed when we finally have some darker skies and possible rain. The streamer fishing could be quite good! The fish will certainly not be as spooky as they have been with perfect bluebird sky weather every day! The brook trout fishing is pretty much non-existent with water levels so low in the region. Look to the spring creeks and tailwaters until DWR gets out stocking fish in your favorite local waters. We will continue to focus on bass fishing for the next few weeks while we have good warm weather! Musky fishing is online but watch the warmer afternoons to ensure water temps stay below 74ish degrees. If water temps are in the 60's it is safe to fish! Carp are easier targets right now with the rivers so low and clear and folks are encountering massive schools of catfish. Channel cats love crayfish so throw your crayfish pattern in the middle of a school and let it sink down in them and get ready for a fun battle! Check out the video for all the details on where to go this week.
