Mossy Creek Fly Fishing Forecast 9/8/2025

Brian brings us the forecast this week. We have 10 days of sun, mild weather, and relatively calm winds just about every day. Expect lows in the low 40's early in the week with a slight warming trend into the weekend. Temps may reach 80 during the day by Thursday through Sunday bringing about some great topwater opportunities bass fishing. Trout fishing will continue to get more and more technical as water levels continue to drop. The spring creek trico hatches and the afternoon terrestrial fishing should bring some fun sight fishing for the next few weeks. The Hex hatch Sunday evening was pretty thick on Mossy Creek and we expect to see those bugs around about another week or so before they are gone for the year. Cool nights have brought water temps down and musky fishing early mornings this week could bring about some exciting fishing opportunities. Low clear water means making long casts for any fish you are targeting. Big bass have become spooky and long casts downstream from a boat are necessary for success. Lead fish with casts upstream and let the flies drift to them for the better success. Enjoy the beautiful weather this week!
