Mossy Creek Fly Fishing Forecast 7/12/2021
Summer is in full swing here in the Shenandoah Valley. It has been awesome going to music festivals like Redwing, visiting wineries and breweries, shopping downtown Harrisonburg, and of course floating the Shenandoah and stalking trout on the spring creeks. With the possibility of rain in the forecast we hope the mountain streams will get a nice boost to improve conditions. The Shenandoah is in peak condition right now with perfect flows, perfect clarity, perfect temps, and hot action all day. It has been a tremendous season so far and we look forward to more warm water fishing fun for the next few months! The trout fishing can be a bit brutal in this 90+ degree heat. Anglers fishing from sunup to around 10am are finding some remarkable dry fly fishing and moving some big fish on the spring creeks. Hopefully we will get some rain soon to mobilize some piled up vegetation and freshen things up a bit. Anyone looking to book a trip please note we are very heavily booked a few months out right now. Our float season runs through September and July and August are full. We do have weekday availability in September but days are filling up rapidly with upwards of 60 booking requests a days. Also for those looking to fish spring 2022 during our peak season- March-May, peak weekends and holidays are already booking. We can book anytime 2022 and beyond if you want to lock in your trips!
