Mossy Creek Fly Fishing Forecast 6/29/2026

Nick brings us the forecast this week and we hope you are ready for the heat! While we will primarily be focused on bass fishing we have some good news out at the spring creeks. Japanese beetles have emerged and it looks like it is going to be a good season as there are a LOT of them on the vegetation right now. Tricos, beetles, and hopper patterns are going to be must haves until fall. Not much rain is in the forecast but we could have some overcast weather with some rain coming this weekend that could provide some good streamer fishing. Bass fishing stays good during hot spells. When the water is low like it is now you will want to be focused on the deep ledges or the shady spots in the afternoon sun! Bass will take shelter in these areas and will rise up to topwater bugs, poppers, and deer hair divers. You will still need plenty of your standard bass flies but we are looking like we are going into a pretty epic topwater period this week. Water is going to be too warm for musky fishing but carp are going to be a target and more accessible in this low and clear water. Keep praying for rain and some cooler weather this summer to pop us out of this dry spell!
