Mossy Creek Fly Fishing Forecast 6/10/2024

Andy brings us the forecast for the week. It is going to be a much warmer this week with temps in the 90's by Friday. Brook trout fishing is still good but water levels are starting to get thin. Fish haven't been picky so most attractor dries in size 14 and 16 will still pick up fish. Ants, beetles, and little yellow stones and some spotty cahills will be around. Most of our major insect hatches are done for the spring. That said you will still see a variety of bugs in the moutains just about every day. The spring creek trico hatch has gotten thick but the evening hatch is starting to thin out. You may see some drakes still around and some bwo's and spotty sulphurs. Beetles will begin emerging and fish will really start to key in on those insects around the end of June and early July. Hoppers are working as well and we are seeing more and more every day. As it gets hot this week target the early morning and evening hours or any overcast day for the best trout fishing action. Bass fishing should really fire up this week. We anticipate some excellent topwater action with the clear water and warming temps. Musky fishing has been good but we will be monitoring the water temps to ensure we aren't fishing if it gets too hot. Check out the video for all the goods!
