Colby brings us the report this week. It is currently raining out and has been most of the day. We are expecting 3/4 to 1 inch by Wednesday afternoon. This is the 3rd system of rain in 3 weeks so the trend to keep drought at bay has been solid. Expect more rain and possibly storms on Friday. The weekend looks relatively clear for now. Reports from trout fishing today have been great. Calm, overcast, and rainy days can be very good for our trout fishing. Some very large fish were caught today. We expect more good trout fishing Wednesday in this overcast and rainy weather. We are not looking at big and rising water unless isolated rain or storms hit a drainage. Brook trout fishing reports from the holiday weekend were excellent just about everywhere. The spring creeks are seeing hatches of tricos very early along with drakes in the evening hours. Streamer fishing on rainy days has been great. The bass fishing has been good on the S Fork Shenandoah with some big fish caught last week and over the weekend. The rain and threat of storms will keep us off the water the next few days but will hopefully be back on Thursday and over the weekend. Next week looks great with 80 degree temps and clear weather. The musky fishing has been good and should be for the next few weeks as the fish feed heavily post spawn. DWR has been out stocking in full force before the end of trout stocking season later this week. You have options just about everywhere in the Valley right now. Enjoy the week ahead!!
