Mossy Creek Fly Fishing Forecast 2/2/2026
Brian brings us the forecast this week from a frozen tundra here in the Shenandoah Valley. The good news is we have a touch of thawing today and should have some more thawing Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday. The bad news is much of our water is still locked up in ice. All of the local ponds, lakes, and big rivers are covered in ice. The spring creeks have the best open water right now but it has been so cold and the banks have been coated in slick ice since it snowed very few have been out to fish. The good news is pressure has been extremely light. We anticipate 40 degree weather by the end of the week will have a few people out trying to catch a few fish. Until then we will be busy stocking the shop with new product for 2026 and tying up flies! Stay warm out there and keep an eye out for gear updates at the shop!
