Mossy Creek Fly Fishing Forecast 2/16/2026
Nick brings us the forecast this week. The weatherman is showing us some impressively warm temps for February. Expect 60's Tue-Fri with 40's and 50's through the weekend and into next week. Grass is peaking through the snow and ice and the rain on Sunday helped a bunch for melting and boosting water flows. Many of our creeks are running high and dirty today and we expect water levels to remain above average while the snow continues to melt. We also have more rain in the forecast at the end of the week that will help continue to chip away at our drought situation. Expect water temps to continue to be very cold until all the snow has melted up in the mountains. Grass is now visible on most sections of our spring creeks making for some easier and safer walking. With high dirty water conditions get your streamer boxes dusted off and get them ready for action! Hopefully DWR will be able to access some creeks and streams later in the week or next week to continue stocking. Watch for ice jams on the larger rivers if you are planning on fishing musky or bass. Conditions will likely be poor with dirty and cold water conditions this week. A lot of ice chunks are still stacked up on shady banks so be careful navigating the larger rivers right now. For now, we will just be happy tying flies and going out in the yard and touching grass for the first time in a month!
We have a ton of amazing new flies in the shop and will be adding hundreds of new patterns over the next few months. CLICK HERE TO SEE ALL OF THE LATEST RELEASED PATTERNS!
