Mossy Creek Fly Fishing Forecast 10/4/2021
Brian brings us the forecast from the Shenandoah Valley this week. We have rain in the forecast pretty much every day now through Sunday. The streamer bite should crank up on the overcast days. Today is bright and sunny but the reports from Mossy are kreelex, conehead sculpins, and rubber legged crystal buggers are moving fish. Little yellow stones, caddis, and ants are still in play this week in the mountains. Nymphing anglers had much better success in numbers. Keep an eye on the radar this week for isolated thunderstorms that could really refresh you favorite drainage. The bass fishing is still decent most days but we are starting to see our numbers dwindle from record days this summer. The best news is we are seeing record number of young of year fish. The future looks really good for the South Fork for years to come! We are starting to see a number of musky anglers now that water temps are dropping.
