Mossy Creek Fly Fishing Forecast 8/29/2022

Brian brings us this week's fishing forecast from the Valley. The South Fork of the Shenandoah has touched average flow for the first time in a few weeks and the low and clear water is making for some excellent surface fishing. Load up on deer hair patterns and poppers to take advantage of the great topwater fishing leading into the fall. Our spring creeks remain in good shape with clear water and hot terrestrial action. It seems that fish have been eating late night hex over the last couple of weeks and morning fishing has been slow, with the action heating up mid day. Load up on your foam hoppers, crickets and beetles to take advantage of the great dry fly fishing. If you struggle to find rising fish, a hopper dropper can be great for prospecting. The mountain streams are getting a shot of rain today and we expect the larger drainages to have a couple more weeks of good fishing. Check out the video for the full forecast.
