Mossy Creek Fly Fishing Forecast 7/15/2024

Nick brings us the forecast this week. We want to thank everyone that came to see us at our last Mobile fly shop stop at Aslin Beer Co in Alexandria VA. It was wonderful to see everyone and meet new folks. Aslin was a gracious host and we look forward to visiting again soon! We will be heading to Hardywood West Creek in Richmond VA on Saturday July 27th! Get ready for some fun Richmond! Now we will apologize for getting everyone pumped up for rain last week! Our forecast changed later Monday and we ended up DRY the entire week. While we still aren't fully trusting the weather channels we are expecting rain Wednesday into Thursday with cooler weather and highs in the low 80's by Thursday. A chance of storms returns Saturday and through most of next week! If it starts raining we will update everyone with river conditions! Watch the heat on Tuesday as we will have heat indices over 100. It is a great time to bass or carp fish or tie some flies in the heat but we are hoping to be able to get back out trout fishing if our water levels change over the next few weeks. Still catching a few trout during the trico hatch in the morning and fishing terrestrial patterns. If we get some storms and water levels rise we should have some quality streamer fishing. If you are bass fishing you should have plenty of crayfish, baitfish, and topwater flies. Frogs like the swim frogs and foam slice frogs have been great! Wiggle minnows, flash dance, flash drive, Ck Baitfish, bunny muddlers, seasoned geezers, sir sticks alot, and other minnow patterns have been excellent. We have enjoyed the low and clear conditions sight fishing to bass but we are ready for some flow to return to our warm water rivers to easier floating and fishing! Check out the video for all the details below!
