Mossy Creek Fly Fishing Forecast 6/23/2023
Brian brings us the forecast this week. We finally have some water!! We have received 5-6 days of steady rain over the last week, and the river and streams are looking great. If you are a brook trout fishermen, now is the time! We have some great water flows in the mountains and the brookie fishing should be excellent for the next couple of weeks. Brian offers some great tips for fishing them in higher water. Our spring creeks are also in great shape as the ground water has been recharged and we have some color in the streams. Most of our spring creeks have been crystal clear for months and the stain should lead to some aggressive fish. Our terrestrials are starting to make an appearance and trout are looking up! Our larger rivers like the Shenandoah are currently running high and muddy. This will be a great refresh for the river, but we are still several days out from better fishing conditions. We have chances of storms the rest of the week, so keep an eye on the gauges as the rivers could bump again. For the full report and details on flies, check out the full video!
