The narrow spool helps keep line from barreling, while the inboard handle and added circumference increase the retrieve rate. Lamson's sealed, maintenance-free conical drag and a spool machined to put material only where it is needed keep it lighter than the earlier Speedster. It comes in Ember and Battleship.

Features

Extra-large arbor and a larger outer diameter for fast retrieve

Narrow spool helps prevent line barreling

Inboard-mounted handle

Sealed, maintenance-free conical drag

Machined 6061 aluminum and stainless steel, Type II anodize

Lighter than the previous Speedster per Lamson

Speedster S spools also fit Speedster S HD reels

US made, Idaho built

Specs

Arbor: Extra-large arbor with a larger outer diameter

Drag: Sealed, maintenance-free conical drag

Construction: Machined 6061 aluminum and stainless steel, Type II anodize

Size -3+: 3.26 oz; 3.28" diameter x 0.90" width; for 2-3-4wt rods; max line WF4 + 50 yd of 20 lb backing

Size -5+: 3.83 oz; 3.65" diameter x 1.00" width; for 4-5-6wt rods; max line WF6 + 100 yd of 20 lb backing

Size -7+: 4.73 oz; 3.97" diameter x 1.12" width; for 6-7-8wt rods; max line WF8 + 180 yd of 20 lb backing

Brand: Lamson

Shop note: We'd pair the -3+ with a 3wt or 4wt trout rod, the -5+ with a 5wt or 6wt and the -7+ with a 7wt or 8wt for streamers or bass.

Because the narrow spool holds less backing than a wider reel, we suggest checking the capacities in the specs, especially on the -3+.
"}
