Brian and Colby Trow opened Mossy Creek Fly Fishing in 2003 in Harrisonburg, Virginia. Today we serve anglers both near and far. Housed in a beautifully restored historic building, we offer both hands on expertise and and a full online store. 

Customers and clients love our friendly, knowledgeable crew of shop staff and experienced personable guides. Folks new to fly-fishing enjoy the welcoming vibe they find at the shop and on the water. Surrounded by small mountain streams to warm water rivers, and spring creeks in between, there is something for all anglers. We are dedicated stewards of the resources that are the foundation of our business. 

At Mossy Creek Fly Fishing, you will find a full fly shop, hands-on fly-fishing education, and personalized guide services. Our staff works with manufacturers on gear design and testing, so we can show you the latest products and how they fish. Mossy Creek Fly Fishing has been an Orvis Endorsed fly fishing school since 2013, and we are the first and only independent fly shop in Virginia to be part of the Orvis-Endorsed Operations program. The Orvis story (over 150 years and running) is steeped in fly fishing and other outdoor sporting traditions. It counts among its efforts the conservation and restoration of fly fishing habitat and species sustainability. Like Orvis, we are dedicated to ensuring everyone has the opportunity to enjoy all that fly fishing has to offer.

Over two decades ago, Orvis created the Orvis-Endorsed Operations program for lodges, guides, outfitters, and expeditions. All share the same high standards: great service, great fishing, and an experienced, professional staff.
