Float Trips

Fly Fishing Virginia's finest smallmouth rivers starts in March and will last through the fall. Our season typically peaks between July and September. The Shenandoah allows anglers shots at record breaking numbers of fish. 100 plus fish days are common when the conditions are right. We also target HUGE largemouth, some over 7 pounds, as well as carp and musky. The James River is a true trophy smallmouth fishery. Although 100 fish days are common on the James, anglers have the opportunity to hook into a 5 pound smallouth on this world-class river. Float Trips on the James River or Shenandoah River usually last around 8 hours and include lunch. We are experienced boatmen and have an intimate knowledge of these rivers. Our new 15 1/2 foot Fishcraft is a state-of-the-art raft. It is incredibly easy to fish from with its custom designed hard bottom floor. All of our boats are equipped with the finest rods and tackle available. Mossy Creek Fly Fishing guide service is fully insured and licensed.

Guide fees include: Transportation, flies, leaders and tippets. All equipment is provided, free of charge.

The boats accomodate 2 anglers and guide. Multiple boats may be booked upon request.
