NEW! Tenkara USA Hane
Tenkara USA’s newest, ultra packable, all-around rod.
The Hane (pronounced like “huh – nay”) is a super compact all-around tenkara rod that will quickly become your favorite adventure rod. Measuring just under 15 inches when collapsed, but extending to 10ft 10in (330cm), the Hane fits nicely inside a small day pack, making this a superb tenkara rod for backpacking, bikefishing and other adventures. Whether you are targeting trout or bass, the Hane was designed to work well in your mountain streams as well as your urban fishing outings. It’s a rod that can tag along in a variety of conditions without compromising durability.
This rod is white, a unique color among the Tenkara USA lineup. Part of the reason for that is the idea of having a rod that will blend in well with open skies above. Whereas a black rod does a good job blending in with canopy, its movement tends to stand out when fishing ponds and open meadow streams. The tip of the rod is black

Tenkara USA Rhodo
The perfect small water, rod.
The Tenkara USA Rhodo™ is the lightest feeling tenkara rod. With several years of design experience under our belt and feedback from our users, we feel we have achieved what we set out to do: give you a rod that is super light-weight, durable, versatile and feels very precise. Plus, we wanted to design a rod that would make it easy to answer “which tenkara rod should I get?”.
The Rhodo has two patent pending features:
Triple-zoom: this allows you to use the rod at three different lengths – 8’10”/ 9’9”/10’6” = 270/297/320cm. Since we began Tenkara USA people have been asking for a sub-9ft tenkara rod. We felt that a short rod could come in handy in some cases but for the most part anglers would miss the advantage that comes from fishing with a long tenkara rod. So, we developed a rod that could be the best of both worlds: short when you need it, long when you want it!
Weight: 2.1 oz (59.5 g)
Closed length: 21”(53.3cm)
Open lengths: 8’10”/ 9’9”/10’6” (270/297/320cm)*
Handle length: 9”(22.9cm)
Tenkara USA Sato
The most adjustable, all-around Tenkara USA rod.
At its shorter length, the Sato is perfect for tighter streams, and at its full length it will be ideal when the stream opens up again or when you find a bigger pool to cast your fly.
The Sato™ has two patent pending features:
Triple-zoom: this allows you to use the rod at three different lengths – 10’8”/ 11’10”/12’9” (330/360/390cm). The average length for a tenkara rod is 12ft long, we like to recommend rods that are closer to 13ft, yet many people are intimidated by such long lengths for rods intended for smaller streams. So, we felt a rod with the 3 most common lengths would be an easy choice: short to ease you into tenkara, long to give you a taste of the advantages presented by a long tenkara rod.
Weight: 2.6 oz (73.7 g);
Closed length: 22 ¾”(57.78cm);
Open lengths: 10’8”/ 11’10”/12’9” (330/360/390cm)*;
Handle length:10 ½”(26.7cm);
Tenkara USA Iwana
The classic all-around rod at a great value.
It feels very light-weight and precise. The progressive taper, ultra-light weight, and tip action provides for great battles, even when hooking the smaller fish. Quality and strength are by no means compromised, and landing large fish is not unheard of (8lbs mentioned on a forum thread!). If you are going to streams where 12 inch trout are trophies this is the rod.
These rods have a beautiful “glossy carbon” finish, where you can see the high-quality carbon fiber material through a nice glossy finish.

Tenkara USA Ito
The Ito is the longest rod in our lineup.
We strived to achieve a very long rod, with the lightest possible feel. A true delight to fish any mountain stream, the Ito will be most at home in wider streams, larger rivers and ponds. It is the main rod we like to recommend for those who fish more open streams. The Ito feels incredibly light at 13ft, as the balance is brought closer to the handle, and still very light at 14ft7in.
Special Features: The Ito features an innovative “zoom” function, which allows the angler to lock one segment in place to fish the rod either at 13ft (390cm) length or, fully extended, at 14ft7in (450cm). The zoom locks both at the butt of the rod with a proprietary cap, and at the end of the handle segment. Having a rod that can be instantly extended an extra 2ft is a true asset in any mountain stream, even some of the smaller streams. A killer combination with a very long line in a large stream, or with a shorter line in a small stream. This is by far the most versatile rod we offer.
We used the highest possible quality cork for the handle and only the finest components to make this our premium rod. The finish is also superb, being a matte black with a gradient dark blue block at the end of each segment.
*rod lengths may vary slightly from indicated due to the telescopic nature of the rods
